Hey dad! It´s good tohear from you! I´m in Cuernavaca right now. We´re having a Christmas program, and I was invited to sing and play the piano. I haven´t had that much time to practice, so it´s kind of bad, but it´s okay. It´s the effort that counts! Everything´s goin good! I´m learning a lot about myself and about the gospel. I´m learning how to be humble and to trust. I am having a good time here.
I baptized two people yesterday. They are young and have a family. They are so great. The husband´s name is Miguel Angel Ortiz Bernal. He works for AFI, the equivalent of FBI here in Mexico. He´s so cool. He could probably kill me with his bare hands, but is very humble, wise, and kind. His wife is great. Her name is Angeles Viviana Esquivel Armendariz. They´re both really awesome. Miguel has taken a lot of interest in the church. Every time we go to his house, he shows us stuff he has found on the Internet about Joseph Smith, and he looks up temples and shows us pictures of them. He´s so great! The people here are always so nice and accepting. But when it comes down to it , everyone is the same. There are the same personality streaks and the same flaws here, as there are in the U.S., and I´m sure in any culture.
Mexico has a weird eating schedule. They ¨almorzar¨ at about 10:00, and then have a comida at 3:00. And dinner is really small. The comida in between is the biggest meal.
What have you been studying in the scriptures? I would like to know.
I wrote mom a letter, so if I didnt say something in this letter it´s in hers. I love you Dad. Thank you for always being so great and a good role model. I look up to you am glad I was sent to the family I was sent to. Love Russell
